ABOUT ME

Rebecca Scott, Person-Centred Counsellor

Are you struggling with a specific issue in your life or maybe you just feel that something isn't quite right? Sometimes, taking the time and space to explore our thoughts, feelings, and problems is exactly what we need. Based in the South Birmingham area and available online, I offer a safe, supportive environment where you can reflect on your challenges and experiences and understand their impact on your life. Together, we will work towards a deeper understanding of yourself and support your personal growth.

I strive to create a welcoming and non-judgmental space where your thoughts and feelings can be freely shared. As a late-diagnosed Autistic and Dyslexic person, I understand the importance of finding a space to be heard and validated. I regularly work with Autistic, ADHD and otherwise Neurodivergent people in an affirming way. I am GSRD (Gender Sex and Relational Diversity) trained and affirming of LGBTQIA+ identities.

I am experienced in helping clients with depression, stress, anxiety, loss, and bereavement as well as addressing low mood and self-esteem issues.

I have specialised training in intimacy and relationship issues (including GSRD).

I have completed Complex Trauma Training (CCTP-ii) and am experienced in working with complex trauma.

I provide a service from my counselling room in Moseley, South Birmingham, as well as The Bourneville Health Hub. Alternatively, sessions can be accessed via Zoom. I also provide Walk and Talk therapy in the Hall Green and Kings Heath area.

If you would like to know more or you feel ready to take the next step please feel free to get in touch.

Reflections from Clients I've Worked With

Never having had counselling in my 68 years and struggling with many feelings following the death of my wife a year earlier I was recommended to Rebecca by family.
I was sceptical, thinking that counselling was ‘not for the likes of me.’
I can offer no greater praise than to say that her gentle and wise counselling over the past six months have been completely transformative.
I struggle to comprehend quite how she did it but I feel I have been led out of darkness into light.

I look forward to talking to Rebecca every week. She is patient, encouraging, and thoughtful. With her support I have taken forward opportunities I would not have been able to before.

Since working with Rebecca I have found my confidence improve significantly - by making me examine my own way of thinking, I am now much happier in my life, which friends and family have all noticed. Rebecca provides a comfortable, non-judgemental space that allows me to genuinely think about how I feel and be confident in discussing tough issues, knowing I will get a helpful, compassionate response.
